Finalizing the Design and Taking the First Step Toward Vision Systems
In March, we made several important decisions that brought us closer to the implementation phase of our drone project. First, we decided on the battery packs to be used. We evaluated different options based on capacity, weight, discharge rate, and compatibility with our power requirements. The selected batteries are suitable for our estimated flight duration and total system load.
At the same time, we finalized the design of the vehicle. After completing the CAD work and checking the compatibility of all components, we created a complete and ready-to-build model. This version considers weight distribution, mounting points, and accessibility for later integration.
We also prepared for the drone's image processing system. Since the competition specified the types of objects to be detected—such as human mannequins, car models, and motorcycle models—we obtained these items accordingly to be used in dataset creation and system testing.
By the end of March, the main design and component choices were complete. In the following months, we plan to start prototyping and testing.
